Message to Congregation, February 9

The Rabbinic Search Task Force is pleased to announce that Rabbi Lindy Reznick has officially joined Congregation Emanu El as its next settled Rabbi, beginning July 1, 2018.

The entire Task Force would like to thank each and every one of you for your support throughout this entire search process.  We would also like to extend gratitude to Interim Rabbi Darryl Crystal and those congregants who participated in the many Meet and Greet gatherings and Town Hall forums this past year which helped guide and shape the Task Force.  The information gathered at these events, along with your personal thoughts, opinions and perspectives about our Temple, were the most valuable tool we had to determine our course and evaluate the applicants. In the end, we believe we reached a very successful outcome. Rabbi Reznick is a unique, warm and wonderful individual with a rabbinic spirit that will bring a new energy to our congregation and community.

As we close out the search process, we now turn our attention to the upcoming rabbinic transition which will usher in a new beginning for Rabbi Reznick and Congregation Emanu El.  We have much more work to do over the coming months to welcome our new Rabbi, and we look forward to you being a part of many more exciting activities.
Additional information will be shared in the very near future about the transition process and opportunities for involvement, including a Transition Task Force.  If you are interested in helping with the transition, which will shape the future of our Temple, please contact Greg Weissman or Stuart Sweet.

Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Search Task Force Chair. On behalf of the entire team, we were humbled and honored to be trusted with this sacred work.

With sincere appreciation,
Justin Swant
